Played a fun, gory Halloween board game: Abomination: The Heir of Frankenstein

Content Warning: Board game about gory subject.

Broke out Abomination: The Heir of Frankenstein for Halloween. Played the Igor variant, which cuts down on game time. Still didn’t finish, but that’s because of the players’ attention span. We got 2/3 done.

For a worker placement game, the theme is really fun. I wish the plastic cubes were instead deluxe wooden tokens that were a little easier to visually identify (brown cube = muscle, purple cube = organs), though there an argument to be made about how far to take a gory theme. There also seems like a fair amount of luck as you roll your dice to try to zap your monster to life - you end up degrading the body and having to rebuild it a bunch.

I don’t know if I’ll come back to it but I’m fully organized with a good storage solution if I do, beyond the baggies. I repurposed the plastic box from Ark Nova that I’d stopped using after I got a Folded Space insert, and I also used a CraftMates bead organizer.
